Susan has been married to her best friend, Chris for over 26 years and is a mother of three, Jennifer (25), Zachary (22), and Jacob (18).  For the past 12 years, she has been a stay at home wife and mother who homeschooled her three children through high school.  Now that the last one is off to college, Susan is entering a new and exciting season of “empty nesting”.  She currently works as a ministry assistant at Warren Baptist Church.

Susan has been teaching God’s Word and speaking to women for several years.  She was the women’s ministry leader at a church in Loganville, GA and has written several Bible studies including, Get Real with God, An Anchor for the Soul: A Journey through Depression, Girls Love Chocolate: Finding Hope by Delighting in our Divine God and is currently working on her latest, Wild Joy: His Glorious Reflection in My Life.

Susan explains her life prior to surrendering to Christ Jesus this way:
“I found myself in the bottom of a pit of sin, looking up and wondering how on earth I had gotten there.  A pastor once told me that sin will take you further than you’d ever thought you’d go, to places you never thought you’d be and doing things you never thought you’d do.  That sums up my pit experience appropriately.  I recognized my need for a Savior and surrendered my heart and life to Christ sitting on my couch in my living room in November of 1996.  My life, and consequently my family, has been radically changed!

The Lord truly used His word to deliver and sustain me.  Psalm 119 is one of my life passages.  God used it in the beginning as he began drawing me out of the pit and to himself and continues to use it in my life daily!  One of my life verses is Psalm 119: 92-93 ‘If your law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction.  I will never forget your precepts for by them you have preserved my life.’
My heart’s desire is for women to not only be in the word, reading, studying, and meditating, but also that His Word would so permeate and saturate their lives that it becomes who they are as they walk through life, applying it and realizing its power and effectiveness as they believe God in every circumstance, task, and season of life.  My prayer before the Lord continues to be that he would give me ‘a soul that follows hard after him’ (Psalm 63:8) and that He would continually ‘turn my heart toward [His] statutes and not toward selfish gain.  Turn my eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life according to [His] word.’  (Psalm 119:36-37).”

Susan is a talented interpreter of the Word and a gifted speaker.  As evidenced by her words above, God placed a strong passion for His Word in her heart, and she strives to glorify Him by speaking truth to women and all who cross her path.
