Donna
Strom
The past couple of years have
brought Donna through some of the deepest heartache and
disappointment experiences in her life. Yet in the midst of
gut-wrenching turmoil in her personal life, she has
discovered a whole new relationship with her Savior-that of
Abba, Father. She has learned,finally,to depend entirely on
the One Who is faithful and true as the source of her
strength and comfort. She's discovered how real He is in
everyday life and how He chooses to speak personally,
sometimes loudly, to her through His Word and the
words of others.
Donna celebrates what 2
Corinthians 1:3 says - Praise be to the God and Father of
our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God
of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that
we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we
ourselves have received from God. From a seemingly
disconnected hodge-podge of lifetime experiences, Donna is
seeing how God weaves them all, just as He promises, into
something that is useful for His kingdom and profitable for
helping others. Her former marriage to an alcoholic,
abusive husband, for instance, gave her an understanding
compassion for women in those situations. Her music
training background, legal education and flair for editing
all play integrally into the ministry service areas where
the Lord has called her.
Donna became a recent
empty-nester when her younger daughter Lauren headed off to
college, but she finds the extra time well spent in studying
the Bible and working on Women's Ministry projects. While
currently serving in the media ministry at Warren Baptist
Church leaves little opportunity for teaching, Donna has
enjoyed leading Bible study groups for women, singles and
blended families over the past several years. She has also
conducted time-management sessions for women's retreats and
international missionary conferences for women.
While she has no promise for
a certain outcome for the particular struggle in her life at
this time, Donna IS certain of this: God is sovereign, He's
in control of it all, and He will work it all out for His
glory!!
